BJP leaders & workers protest outside AAP headquarters, want Kejriwal to quit

Delhi BJP leaders and workers staged a protest near the AAP headquarters on April 10. BJP is demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the alleged excise policy scam. Recently, Kejriwal's plea against his arrest and remand in the excise policy of his government was rejected by the Delhi High Court on April 09. Meanwhile, CM Kejriwal has approached the Supreme Court challenging the high court order. Dramatic images surfaced from the Aam Aadmi Party's headquarters in New Delhi. During the protest, security personnel used water canons against BJP workers, who were trying to overpass the barricades. Watch video

Arvind Kejriwal Arrest: Delhi Police detains AAP workers

Following the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case by ED, AAP workers have called for a 'gherao' outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence, denouncing the arrest. Protesters voiced slogans against the detention. Delhi Police also detained Punjab Minister and AAP leader Harjot Singh Bains along with a few AAP workers who were protesting. Speaking on the AAP protest in Delhi today, party leader Reena Gupta said, "We demand that Arvind Kejriwal should be released immediately. His arrest is illegal. PM Modi is afraid and he wants Arvind Kejriwal to not campaign for the upcoming elections. Today we will protest and nobody can stop us."Punjab Minister and AAP leader Harjot Singh Bains lashed at ED for being biased and not arresting J.P. Nadda as he accused him of money money-trailing case. He further bashed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, “I want to ask our Prime Minister why is he so scared of Arvind Kejriwal and along with him he is also scared of us because of which he has deployed so many security personnel throughout Delhi.”

IAF's transport aircraft Chinook carrying 41 workers took off from Chinyalisaur Hospital on Nov 29. The workers have been shifted from Chinyalisaur Hospital to AIIMS Rishikesh for further treatment carrying 41 rescued workers, IAF's transport aircraft Chinook reached AIIMS Rishikesh. Workers will be kept under the supervision of expert doctors for a final checkup at AIIMS. 41 stranded workers were rescued from the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi on November 28. After Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue, workers were shifted to the Community Health Centre in Chinyalisaur for primary treatment. Workers were trapped inside Uttarakhand's Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi since November 12.

Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue: Families of rescued workers erupt in celebrations

As the trapped workers were safely rescued from the Silkyara tunnel on November 28 evening, their family members and relatives in different parts of the country burst into joy and celebrated the moment like Diwali by bursting crackers. Many relatives, had reached the Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue site a couple of days after the incident and had been camping there since then, were finally reunited with their loved ones. Family members of Manik Talukdar, one of the workers who was rescued from the Uttarkashi tunnel, celebrated and had a conversation with him through video conferencing. Talking to ANI, Son of Manik Talukdar, said, "We are very happy that they came out of the tunnel... For 17 days we were very worried... Now he (Manik Talukdar) is fine." Family members of Ram Sundar from UP’s Shravasti celebrated their joyous moment by bursting crackers and distributing sweets after his successful rescue from the tunnel. Dhanpati, mother of Ram Sundar, a worker rescued from the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi, said, "We are very happy... We celebrated Diwali yesterday evening, the entire village celebrated Diwali happily yesterday."

Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue: Rescued workers share shocking ordeal of being trapped

Two workers who were trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel talk about their 17-day-long experience trapped in the tunnel following the Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue. The workers had a sigh of relief after the anxiety-filled initial 24 hours. Vishwajeet Kumar Verma and Subodh Kumar Verma expressed their gratitude to the rescuers and the government as well. Rescued worker Vishwajeet Kumar Verma said, "When the debris fell, we knew that we were stuck. For the first 10-15 hours we faced difficulty. But later, a pipe was put in to provide us with rice, dal and dry fruits. Later a mic was installed and I was able to talk to my family members...I am happy now, will celebrate Diwali now." "The first 24 hours were tough but after that food was provided to us through a pipe. Subodh Kumar Verma, another rescued worker said, “I am absolutely fine and in good health now…”.

Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue: Visuals of the rescue of the 41 trapped workers

In a major victory in the Uttarkashi tunnel rescue operation, the NDRF on Nov 28 rescued all trapped workers from the Silkyara tunnel. The NDRF personnel entered the Silkyara tunnel to rescue the workers on the 17th day of the tunnel collapse. The rescuers entered the tunnel by completing 45-meter pipe drilling to evacuate the workers. The rescued workers were shifted to hospitals for further treatment in 30 ambulances which were on standby at the incident site. The ambulances were fully equipped to provide enhanced medical assistance to patients during transportation. Hours after the safe evacuation of 41 trapped workers from the Silkyara tunnel on November 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the rescued men over the phone. Earlier on Nov 12, Uttarkashi Tunnel Collapse occurred from Silkyara to Barkot due to debris falling in a 60-meter stretch on the Silkyara side.
