India's Leander Paes and his Czech partner Radek Stepanek are through to the semi-finals of the men's doubles. The Indo-Czech team thrashed the fancied American-Brazilian pair of Eric Butorac and Bruno Soares 6-4, 7-6(7-4) in a gruelling battle that lasted an hour and 39 minutes.

Paes and Stepanek will play second seeds Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Canadian Daniel Nestor in the semi-finals.
India's Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna crashed out in the pre-quarter-finals on Sunday.
Paes, then, along with Russian Elena Vesnina downed unseeded Su-Wei Hsieh of Chinese Taipei and Marcin Matkowski of Poland in straight sets 6-3, 7-5 to book in spot in the mixed doubles quarter-final.
Indo-American pair of Rohan Bopanna and Lisa Raymond. will be Paes and Vesnina's quarter-final opponents today. |
