Mumbai Magicians' chief coach Ric Charlesworth yesterday slammed the umpiring in the ongoing Hockey India League after his team went down 4-6 to the Delhi Waveriders at the Mumbai Hockey Association-Mahindra Stadium, suffering their fourth straight defeat in as many outings.

“The refereeing was pretty sub-standard. A couple of (penalty) corners which were awarded against us, were never on. Such decisions hurt us,” said Charlesworth.

The Australian was further incensed by the fact that Jaypee Punjab Warriors manager Jagbir Singh received only a one-match suspension after the team fielded 12 players during the last five minutes of Sunday’s match, where they beat Mumbai 4-2. “It's like slapping us with a wet-tissue," said Charlesworth.
