For Pakistan, who ended with the wooden spoon, skipper Muhammad Imran scored in the seventh minute through a penalty corner while Kashif Shah Syed sounded the board in the 46th minute.

By virtue of this win, the young Indian side stamped its authority over the arch-rivals in the tournament having won the league encounter 3-1 earlier. Though it was fast-paced match, India certainly looked the better side.

Both sides had a quick exchange of attacks from the very beginning and Pakistan went into the lead with skipper Muhammad Imran scoring from the first penalty corner of the match.
