GREY SHADES: A picture from Bhaskar’s collection titled Heaven in the Clouds

Photography, like all other art forms, is either innate or acquired. For those who like the idea of taking pictures of things they see but don’t really know how to capture a moment aesthetically, learning a thing or two from an expert always helps.

Bhaskar, one of Bangalore’s accomplished photographers is holding a photography workshop for those who want to explore the different possibilities of photography. Titled ‘Photoscool’, this workshop for beginners will be on for a duration of six to seven hours spread over two days. During the workshop the participants will be taught various aspects of basic photography such as the features, operations and technical aspects of the camera, manipulation of camera mechanisms and photographic methods to achieve desired results. Special emphasis will be laid on developing and polishing creative abilities of the participants. Photography of both kinds — film and digital, will be taught. The participants need not bring cameras or film.

The teacher

With an expertise spanning almost two-and-a-half decades, Bhaskar has worked with leading ad agencies and corporate companies. For the past five years, he’s been pursuing photography of a more creative nature. Working almost exclusively in the wonderfully creative medium of black and white, he’s photographed India extensively. Tribal cultures, rural lifestyles, landscapes and exploration of less-travelled areas of India like Meghalaya have formed the fulcrum of his photographic pursuit. He’s also working on a coffee table book — that he’s photographed and penned, in black and white, on the beautiful state of Meghalaya titled ‘Heaven In The Clouds.’
