Khana Khazana guy opens kitchen at Koregaon Park

By: Debarati Palit
Celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor, who turned into a household name with his popular TV show Khana Khazana, has launched his own Indian cuisine restaurant. The Yellow Chilli is the latest addition to Koregaon Park's elegant eateries. Painted in white, the quaint building's sloppy roof and wooden beams give it a holiday home feel.

Ambience: The restaurant has an open verandah section as well as enclosed interiors, done up in wood, with ornate chandeliers adding a desi touch. A separate seating area upstairs, is scheduled to open to guests soon.
We tried: Harey Masale Ka Bhuna Paneer (Rs 165) and Murgh Angar Bedgi (Rs 195) were our choice for starters, and they arrived at our table in five minutes flat. The paneer was tender, marinated in coriander and mint chutney, and served with onion slices dipped in yoghurt.

For main course, we tried the Dum Ki Biryani (Rs 235), Paneer Kali Mirch (Rs 325), Tariwala Murg (195), Butter Naan (Rs 35) and Lasooni Naan (Rs 35). Again, within 15 minutes, our entire order was before us. They get full points for prompt service. Order the Tariwala Murg only if you like runny gravies. The Lasooni Naan deserves a special mention for its texture, and tasty coriander and garlic stuffing. The portions are enough to satiate two guests.

Just desserts: In spite of having had our fill, we couldn't get ourselves to skip dessert. The Kesar Kulfi with Malai (Rs 90) was worth it.
