Rockin' rolls, but a bit too rich

Mumbai:

LOADED

It's a wonder that any of the stalls at Atria Mall's food-court should ever be busy considering the variety of cuisines available side-by-side here. Yet, we never spotted On d' Roll free of customers, even for a minute. We attribute this in part to the stall's wooden façade that catches your eye, but the scrumptious kabab-rolls we enjoyed digging into, might have a lot to do with its popularity.

Service: Ask for Imran Quereishi, chef and should-be-salesman, and you won't be disappointed with either the recommendations or service. Quereishi did more than just recommend some dishes he went out of his way to make them sound mouth-watering, and assured us we would love his "melt-in-the-mouth, Kakori Kababs". We did!

The Khana: The Kakori Kabab and Sheesh Kabab rolls were good, but the tender kababs would have been better without the excessively oily, nan-rolls. Spices were used in right proportion to accentuate taste without causing heart-burn. The only real disappointment was the limited dessert list. The only sweet-dish available is Firni (Rs 28) but we tried it and have to admit, it was smooth without being sickeningly sweet. We didn't even mind that they charged us for the Kandahari Paneer Roll we had requested, but gave us a Sheesh Kabab Roll instead. Vegetarians may want to double-check their delivery, though.

Prices: Kathi rolls (Rs 80 to Rs 145; include vegetarian and non-vegetarian varieties). Rotis and parathas (Rs 15 to Rs 20). Non-vegetarian plate of biryani (Rs 115).

Delivery: A flyer we picked up at the stall, boasts "free home delivery" but doesn't specify where. Another thing to keep in mind is that there's only one cell-phone number listed. So, we imagine you might have a hard time getting through at lunch or dinner time.

At: Right beside Kailash Parbat, Atria Mall, 4th floor, Worli. from 11.30 am to midnight, all days of the week. Call: 9967988881
