Floral dress with colourful plaids | Tired of friends showing off their designer buys from Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore? Fret no more, Pune now has its own fashion boutique at Aundh. Rudraksha is a treasure trove of designer salwar-kameezs, sarees, trousers, tunics, skirts, formals, accessories and shirts for men.
It's the first multi-designer store in the city that showcases collection of well-known designers Vikram Phadnis, Maheka Mirpuri, Wendell Rodricks, Rohit Bal, Rocky S, Sonam Dubal, Nicky Mahajan, Monapali, Manju, Bobby Grover, Manoviraj Khosla, Neeta Bhargava, Nikasha Tawadey, Vivek Karunakaran, Namrata Joshipura and Priyadarshini Rao, Abraham & Thakore, Geisha Designs and Malaga bags.
Launched a few weeks ago, the store has already turned into a hot spot for socialites and shopoholics. "I'm glad I followed my instincts and opened the store. I have received a great response and its going to get better," says proprietor Rasika Wakalkar.
Ambience: The 3700 sq/ft store has been done up in wood. A glass cabinet placed near the cash counter houses earrings, rings and pendants. The store gives shoppers ample space to roam around, and try out a perfect fit.
We Liked: The bags and footwear, the jute and silk clutches, and leather and fabric purses are a good pick. The sarees and white tops by Wendell Rodricks are a good buy for the summer. According to Rasika, each stock is not displayed more than two weeks, buy what you like because chances are your next-door neighbour might just flaunt it.
