Abhishek, Anush and Shreyans have a big night at Hard Rock Cafe on July 2 | Abhishek Singhal (bass) and Shreyans Jha (vocals) were school buddies who shared tiffin boxes and a passion for songs. Anush joined them later. "I told Abhishek and Shreyans that I played the drums when in reality I only longed to! But I did manage to learn fast enough to impress them," Anuj confesses.
Just jammin'
"Shreyans is the funny guy and comes up with the smart lines. But the whole band trips on the bassist. We just love troubling him," says Anush.
"We are influenced by bands like Deftones, Infected Mushroom and Tools. We would love to catch musicians like RHCP, Tool, Incubus on stage," he adds.
'Give us more'
"India hosts many talented rock musicians and it is great to see so many bands ," says Anush. "In Chennai, JRO (June Rock Out) is a huge annual festival, where musicians and bands from all over India come to perform. We need more events like JRO," he adds.
Null Friction counts their gig at JRO last year as their most memorable performance till date. "My pedal broke and I had to stand and play," says Anush with a chuckle. "Our aggression feeds our energy on stage. We have played in Bangalore before, but this time it's bigger and we are expecting a bigger crowd. Since there are many metal fans here we are keeping are fingers crossed," says Anush.
