RJ Rakesh Kumar gets candid about Prithvi's role in his life
Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus.... this is something I fail to understand. All thanks to my male partner... uhh⦠sorry, colleague, Prithvi, who is hooked to me for eternity. (Nope, We know nothing about Article 377!)
From daily show flows to radio scripts; from celebrity interviews to promo recordings, from lunch breaks to loo breaks, we are a couple and we do it all together. It won't be too long before our respective mothers start feeling like Kiron Kher of Dostana. I can imagine them giving us kangans (bangles), which are family heirlooms, and blessing us with words like: "Phoolo, phalo... khair chodo!"
To keep things strictly platonic, I decided to pack off Prithvi on a holiday. And Pavitra offered to support me in this noble endeavour. How? By agreeing to host the morning show: Bengalooru Fatafat for the whole of this week. The moment she said that, I took her on a joy ride around Cubbon Park and bought her stuff even her boyfriend wouldn't have! Look at the accompanying photograph to see how happy I made her. Ain't I the world's best producer? Well... that's what my boss Anil says.
It's been two days and I've discovered that working with a girl is a whole new learning.
Now, you wake up to the voice of MJ Pavitra every morning on Bengalooru Fatafat between 7 and 11 am.
Thanks, Pavitra for the rescue act and for showing me why it's a woman's world!
The writer is producer and RJ with RadioOne 94.3 FM
