An evening with the stand-ups

By: Swathi Narayan

Laugh out loud this Saturday with  comedians Rubi Chakravarti and Ajit Saldanha

Poke Rubi, the pretty stand-up comedian who does her act this Saturday and she will tell you, "You know the rules baby, when you come to my stand-up comedy, you sit right in front and laugh your heart away-loud and clear, so the whole place resounds with your laughter." And that's what you can expect at this gig. In mood for a few laughs? Stand-up comedians Rubi Chakravarti and Ajit Saldanha satiate your funny bone this Saturday with mirth and fun all the way into the night.

Laughter riot: Rubi Chakravarti

LOL: Ajit Saldanha

Rubi is all set to pull legs, get her offensive streak on, get cocky as she gets you laughing. She will open with an act called, A One Night Stand Only and ask her what's in store, she will quip, "Me, me, me, me". Rubi says she's super excited to be performing to home crowds. "I have butterflies in my stomach. I know it's going to be an intimate event with a small crowd, though I'm used to performing for larger crowds. I'm very excited."

Rubi shares the stage with Ajit, "Ajit is an old friend and one of the people who nudged me into stand-up comedy. I'm very comfortable around him and he's one of the very few men, who doesn't mind getting his ass whopped on stage by a woman."

Ajit Saldanha has a flip side to it. He says, "The show is a light-hearted take on how we follow everything that is told to us. It's a different take on normal everyday stuff. I enjoy performing with Rubi, she's a very talented artist. Not every office clown can do stand ups. Stand-up is all about igniting the mundane."
