A poster of This Is It | Since the film's footage is 70% concert-oriented, the distributors have decided to keep the film in limited edition format too, just like a concert. It plays for just two weeks, opening worldwide on October 28, after premiering in Los Angeles on October 27.
Directed by Kenny Ortega, MJ's creative partner and director for his stage shows, the film showcases rehearsal sessions, backstage footage and interviews of Michael while he prepared for a 50-show tour that was to kickstart in London. With the tagline, Like You've Never Seen Him Before, the documentary gives fans the chance to watch the legend in action. A couple of scenes in 3-D are the highlight of the film.
The trailer is up on his official website and on Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsVYuGwAuR0) and features Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal, Bad, Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough, Man in the Mirror and other tracks.

Why is it a limited edition film? Anjali Malhotra from Sony Pictures, says, "This Is It is running all over the world for just two weeks since it's in a concert format. Any type or kind of concert runs for a limited time, so, the movie also follows the same format."
Price of tickets is the same as a regular movie ticket and is at the discretion of each theatre. |
