Lots of music and melody to munch on at this eatery There are two things that stand out about Tryst -- the newly opened 'MusiCafe'. One, the band that was playing on a dull, Monday night, while managing to pep us up also made us sad about how some great talent can be unrecognised for an entire lifetime. Two, when it comes to non-vegetarian food, all of us are hardliners, but the chef managed to make all of us rave about a tossed Oriental starter with tofu (which believe it or not, like soy, none of us had eaten before).

It may be called caf ©, but Tryst is more like diner, with Delhi-over-the-top interiors. The space is small, the tables are close to each other, the bar is at an arm's length, and the music is loud. If you are smart, you will not go here on a busy night because then there will be nothing but cacophony -- unless, you are in the majority that likes white noise. Let music set the mood
At such a place, where music and booze are the priority, the food that is served can be a problem. Most such places in the Capital serve food which is usually at the bottom end of the mediocrity scale, but Tryst is an exception.
The choice of dishes on the menu is old-fashioned but the food is good. Or at least it was on the night we were the only table. The Sheesh kebabs are good especially with the mango mayonnaise they are served with but have the tofu with pakchoy instead.
For the main course, like with the appetisers, the choice is diverse to the point of being contradictory. But, order whatever the live band sets you in the mood for, and it is bound to be good if not quite spectacular.
