After suffering a loss, PBKS` captain Shreyas Iyer said, "I won`t beat around the bush; I`ll just say fielding and bowling again. (If he thought 210 was a good score) Absolutely, I feel that it was 30 runs more on this wicket considering how the ball was seaming and there was variable bounce. (On bowling Chahal) There was absolutely a thought in my mind, but the way ball was seaming and the way it was helping seamers, I think if we would have executed our line and length precisely, we could have been able to extract wickets, but unfortunately again, we didn`t. (on how to bowl here) Still into the surface. I always say that the hard length - short of a hard length - is the best ball, especially when a new batsman is coming in. It`s not easy to hit because if you keep repeating those balls, at least one ball gives a chance of mis-hitting and you can get a wicket. We`ve been short of planning".

Shelar, who also holds the portfolios of electronics, information technology, and artificial intelligence, while issuing an official statement, said, "the decision was taken as part of a broader effort to exercise restraint in government expenditure while prioritising national interest."

He said, “In view of the prevailing situation and the prime minister`s appeal, we have decided to impose restraint on departmental spending and ensure prudent use of resources."

Shelar stresses using virtual platforms

Shelar further added that greater emphasis would now be placed on conducting official meetings through virtual platforms, reducing travel-related expenditure and ensuring limited and efficient use of departmental resources.

Despite his absence from the international film festival in France, Shelar assured that all relevant government agencies would continue functioning as planned to ensure coordination and support for all the Marathi films participating in Cannes.

Shelar to virtually join the Cannes Film Festival

Ashish Shelar further stated that he would participate virtually wherever required to extend support and encouragement to the Marathi film industry and ensure Maharashtra’s cinematic presence remains strong on the global stage.

The decision comes as part of a larger effort by the state government to align with the centre`s call for fiscal prudence while continuing to support cultural and creative initiatives through alternative means.

The move has been viewed as a symbolic gesture of solidarity with the national leadership’s appeal, balancing administrative responsibility with continued support for Marathi cinema’s growing international recognition.

Suggesting a slew of measures to citizens to help the country overcome the challenges, he emphasised that patriotism is not only about sacrificing one’s life for the nation, but also about living responsibly and fulfilling duties towards the country during difficult times, as per IANS.

Among the names gaining attention is `Atma Namaste™`, a Mumbai-based organisation promoting Pranic Healing as a method of achieving balance, clarity and inner peace.

The organisation follows the teachings of Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, who developed and systematised Pranic Healing — a non-touch and non-invasive energy healing practice aimed at improving mental, emotional and physical wellness. It is drawing attention from people across different walks of life, including public figures, entrepreneurs and professionals seeking balance and clarity amid demanding lifestyles.

Philosophy behind the practice

The name carries its message - Atma is the Sanskrit word for the soul and Namaste, a greeting most of us utter daily - means - I bow to the divine in you. Together, the name is both a salutation and a philosophy: That healing begins when we honour the life force within.

At its heart, Pranic Healing works on the understanding that the physical body is surrounded by an energy body - the aura - which regulates our health at every level: physical, emotional, and mental. When this energy body is congested, depleted, or imbalanced, illness and distress follow. Pranic Healing systematically cleanses and energises the aura, supporting the body`s own natural healing intelligence.

"It is not faith healing. It is not meditation. It is a structured, step-by-step science," explains Melwyn D`Souza, Senior Pranic Healer and Co-Founder of Atma Namaste.

"You don`t need to believe in it for it to work. You simply need to be open,"Melwyn said.

The organisation`s co-founders, Nikhil K Maini and Ritika Sony, alongside Melwyn D`Souza, bring together decades of experience in the GMCKS tradition, offering individual healing, free group sessions, and corporate Employee Assistance Programmes across their healing centres in India.

When it works: The real stories

Perhaps the most compelling evidence is not clinical papers but human stories and Atma Namaste has a number of them.

Chloe Qureshi turned to Pranic Healing during her pregnancy

Chloe Qureshi, Mrs. India 2023, turned to Pranic Healing during her pregnancy -one of the most physically and emotionally demanding journeys a woman undertakes.

"Pranic Healing was my sanctuary during pregnancy," she says. "It brought balance, clarity, and grace through every change. Endlessly grateful," she said.

For Sonali Singh, Celebrity Manager and a face familiar to Femina readers, the sessions have become a trusted constant across life`s unpredictable storms.

"Working with Melwyn has helped me time and again," she says, adding, "Whether it was my mum`s health, challenging situations in my business, or even everyday stresses at home. Each time I`ve turned to him for healing, it has brought a sense of balance and clarity, helping me navigate situations that felt overwhelming at the time."

Their testimonials sit alongside a growing chorus, the organisation said.

It said, an airlines commander who regained feeling in a finger after sessions when medicine had no answers. A young entrepreneur in financial distress who shifted from zero income to a five-digit month within days of financial healing. A grandfather whose post-opioid hallucinations - which had left doctors helpless - vanished after a single session.

"The stories are diverse. The thread connecting them is transformation," it added.

Beyond individual healing: A vision for India

According to the organisation, what sets Atma Namaste apart in India`s crowded wellness landscape is its breadth of service.

Atma Namaste offers specialised group healing for conditions including healing for financial problems, anxiety, depression, hypertension, cancer support, and diabetes - making healing accessible, not exclusive. Its corporate EAP programmes are being adopted by businesses seeking to improve team harmony, reduce burnout, and energise new projects.

The organisation has a rating of 5.0 across all reviews in the wellness space, which is exceptionally rare, it stated.

Distance healing is also fully offered - a critical differentiator in a vast country where access to quality well-being support is still unevenly distributed.

"Energy is not confined by distance," D`Souza stated.

"We have clients in the USA, South East Asia, and across India who heal just as effectively online as they do in person," he said.

A new conversation about mental and spiritual health

India is finally having an honest conversation about mental health and mental wellbeing. But Atma Namaste argues that wellness cannot be complete without honouring the spiritual dimension -the dimension that conventional frameworks are only beginning to address.

"We are not a replacement for medicine or expert advice," the founders say, adding, "We are its conscious, compassionate companion."

In a nation of 1.4 billion souls - many of them searching - that may be precisely the conversation whose time has come.

That’s who I am beyond the sets a family guy, a traveler, and an entrepreneur.”

When asked about his love life, Mohit answered with humour while making it clear that work remains his priority at the moment. “Right now my only steady relationship is with my script and my call times. They demand all my effort,” he joked.

However, the actor admitted that he still strongly believes in love. “I absolutely believe in love, 100 percent. My heart is open. But my focus is entirely on work right now this phase of my career needs me more than anything else,” he said. Ending on a playful note, Mohit added, “If something special happens organically, it happens. I’m not chasing it. In an exclusive conversation with mid-day, the actress opened up about why she initially hesitated to take up the role, how deeply personal experiences shaped her performance, and the emotionally intense killing scene that left viewers shocked.

Shivjyoti talks about her character

Speaking about her first reaction to the role, Shivjyoti admitted she was unsure because Natasha was unlike anything she had done before. “To be very, very honest, I was not really keen on this character because first, it is a role of a gangster and it was something I have never done before,” she shared.

However, the audition changed her perspective. The actress revealed that Natasha’s struggles reminded her of girls she had once worked with at an orphanage. “There was a thing about girls who are underprivileged and victims of circumstances. I used to support an orphanage and I remember the girls there suffered the same kind of crisis,” she said.

Shivjyoti further recalled being falsely blamed while trying to help the girls. “The owners of the orphanage took the blame on me as if I was trying to take money from people. It was a very personal incident for me,” she added.

The actress said Natasha’s journey became more than just a fictional role for her. “A lot of girls who are orphans or part of such scandals have no voice and they don’t know what to do. I wanted to give a performance where they can feel confidence and courage,” she explained.

Recalls the scarring killing scene

Talking about Natasha’s complex relationship with Gautam, Shivjyoti described the character as someone trapped between survival and power. “She was getting abused sexually, so she used her sex to get the power and he was using his power to get sex from her,” the actress stated, while clarifying that Natasha was never truly in love with Gautam.

One of the most discussed moments from the season was Natasha killing Gautam. Shivjyoti admitted filming the sequence was emotionally exhausting. “Before the scene, we all were sweating because it was clearly very hot. I was only thinking about the whole situation with all that my girls went through,” she revealed.

According to the actress, Natasha never intended to murder Gautam. “She only wanted him to be punished but the situation triggered her so much that she came out of that cocoon,” Shivjyoti explained, adding that Natasha finally exploded after suppressing her emotions for too long.

The actress also spoke about chopping off her hair for the role despite people around her advising against it. “Everybody was telling me to grow my hair, but my director wanted this look,” she said.

Shivjyoti believes Natasha’s appearance was crucial because the show needed a woman who could dominate a male-driven world. “They wanted somebody who can dominate the male world, but with an innocent face that nobody would suspect,” she concluded.

A 92nd-minute decision, which could decide the fate of teams at both ends of the Premier League table, became the latest flashpoint in VAR`s turbulent history since its inception.

Callum Wilson`s last-gasp equaliser was ruled out for a foul on Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya, as the Gunners held on for a 1-0 win that took them closer to their first league title since 2004.

While the goal was being celebrated at the Hammers` home ground, the London Stadium and in the blue part of Manchester, there was always a lingering feeling of VAR’s impending interference in the background. West Ham United`s worst fear eventually came true as the referee was ordered to the pitchside monitor to watch the replay in slow motion and from different angles, eventually concluding that the keeper was fouled in the process of the goal being scored.

The ‘Clear and Obvious’ VAR Dilemma

While there could be many arguments about the foul and its repercussions, VAR has failed to deliver what it was introduced for. The system was brought in with a simple promise of ‘minimum interference, maximum benefit’, something it has quite evidently not lived up to.

The system designed to help the referee with ‘clear and obvious errors’ is causing fans to fall out of love with the game they once enjoyed. The thrill of scoring has been replaced by an anxious wait, and the joy of a last-minute winner must now be put on hold while an official, sitting miles away from the stadium, decodes every movement in slow motion and from multiple angles, almost as if searching for a reason to disallow the goal.

West Ham`s equaliser in the 92nd minute was disallowed after the referee watched the replay 17 times. It took the referee and the VAR official more than three minutes to reach a decision that might look right in hindsight but was not ‘clear and obvious’ by any means.

Although VAR has brought much-needed precision to offside decisions, the frequent disqualification of goals is draining the enthusiasm from the matchday experience. The instinctive celebration and the immediate rush to restart the game have been traded for agonisingly long reviews that take the emotion out of the game.

The goal of the ‘clear and obvious’ rule was to support referees, but it is actually doing the opposite. Instead of making definitive decisions, referees are now second-guessing themselves, knowing that a computer will check their every move.

By focusing too much on being perfect and getting every 50-50 decision right, the game is losing its heart. When we spend more time looking at screens than watching the ball, the magic of football disappears.

Having been put to bat first, PBKS` wicketkeeper-batsman Prabhsimran Singh departed after scoring 18 runs in 15 balls, including three boundaries. Fellow opening batsman Priyansh Arya smashed 56 runs in 33 balls, with the help of two boundaries and six maximums.

Delhi`s Mukesh Kumar and Madhav Tiwari have managed to pick up one wicket each. Mitchell Starc, Auqib Nabi, and Lungi Ngidi are yet to claim their first wickets.

Earlier, DC`s skipper Axar Patel won the toss and elected to bowl first against PBKS.

The Capitals entered the clash with three changes, with Sahil Parakh coming in for Sameer Rizvi and David Miller replacing Pathum Nissanka. Vipraj Nigam will also make way for Madhav Tiwari.

Yeah, obviously, that is correct, even in the match, the crucial moments have been lost - in batting, bowling, and fielding. Otherwise, we have not played that bad a cricket. (Mathematically, it is still possible to qualify, so what is the thinking and what is the conversation before this match?) No, before this match, it is [about] thinking that we will play our cricket. So, whenever you have time, you should enjoy it, and this is what we are talking about".

"(You have won matches by chasing - is that the reason to bowl first?) No, basically, it is fresh cricket and in Dharamshala, this has been a high-scoring round. So, it is fresh cricket, and we don`t know what will happen. The swing is also available for the fast bowlers. So, we are thinking that if we bat first, we will get a pitch idea, so we are chasing. (Changes?) There are five changes, so Abhishek Porel, Sahil Parakh is playing, David Miller is playing, Auqib Nabi is playing, and Madhav Tiwari is playing," he added.

The singer, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, first sparked massive reactions when he casually picked up and ate a banderilla a Korean-style corn dog popular in Mexico while performing with the group at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City. Fans were amused watching the global superstar snack on food mid-performance while continuing to interact with the crowd.

V leaves the fans awe-struck with his mid-concert moment

Videos from the concert quickly spread across social media platforms, with ARMYs sharing clips of the unexpected moment. The reactions of fellow BTS members also added to the viral buzz. Several members appeared surprised and entertained after spotting Taehyung calmly eating during the show. Fans especially loved the expressions of J-Hope and Jungkook, who looked visibly shocked while watching him enjoy the snack in the middle of the concert.

The banderilla moment became one of the biggest talking points from BTS’ Mexico stop. According to reports, the singer approached one of the food stalls located inside the venue during the group’s “IDOL” performance segment, where members moved around the stadium greeting fans. Staff members at the stall happily handed him the snack, while the crowd erupted into cheers and laughter.

Soon after the moment went viral, online discussions emerged over whether the snack had been properly paid for. Fans later learned that BTS’ staff reportedly returned to the stall before the group’s second concert to pay for the banderilla Taehyung had eaten. However, the workers at the food stall refused to accept the money and instead said the snack was a gift for the singer. Mexican ARMYs praised both the staff and Taehyung’s team for the respectful gesture, and many fans joked that “Mexico invites BTS.”

Fans react to V`s gesture

The excitement continued during BTS’ second Mexico concert when Taehyung surprised fans yet again by stopping at another food stall, this time to grab blue cotton candy. Videos showed the singer smiling while receiving the sweet treat from vendors inside the stadium. However, instead of eating it himself, he later gifted the cotton candy to a lucky fan in the audience, creating another heartwarming viral moment.

Taehyung’s spontaneous food adventures became hugely popular online because fans felt they showcased his natural and playful personality. Many ARMYs praised the idol for openly embracing Mexican culture and enjoying local snacks during the tour. The moments also helped boost attention for the local food vendors, with some businesses reportedly seeing increased popularity after being associated with the BTS singer.

The instructions were issued during a monsoon preparedness review meeting held with various civic and government departments.

The collector instructed the Public Works Department (PWD) to carry out safety audits of all dangerous bridges, culverts and dilapidated buildings across the district.

Officials said the aim is to identify vulnerable structures and take preventive measures before heavy rainfall begins.

The Water Resources Department has also been directed to conduct physical inspections of dams to ensure structural safety and operational readiness during the monsoon, the news agency reported.

From fans praising his acting to curiosity around his personal life, the actor has been in the news for several reasons. When the film released, an eagle-eyed fan shared screenshots of the end credits and claimed that the rumours about the actor demanding five vanity vans were true. However, his co-star Gaurav Gera has now debunked the rumours.

Gaurav Gera on Ranveer Singh’s five vanity van claims

Farah Khan asked him about the interesting anecdote of Ranveer’s teasing during Dhurandhar’s reading. Ranveer and Gaurav had earlier done a “Chutki” video together, and the star remembered that. Gaurav shared, “We were sitting for Dhurandhar’s reading, and it went on for a long time. In the middle, Ranveer took a break to go to the loo. I had my beard at that time. He followed me and teased me in that voice, saying, ‘Chutki, washroom jaayegi?’ He is super fun, quite a brat. He is wonderful.”

“I didn’t see these many vans,” Gaurav clarified. After that, she smiled and replied, “Give it to him if he wants it.”

About Ranveer Singh’s vanity van claims

For those unaware, there had been chatter that the actor travelled with not one but multiple customised vans on set — one for personal use, another converted into a gym, and a third for his private chef and support staff. While nothing was officially confirmed back then, Dhurandhar’s end credits may have added fuel to the fire.

In the vendor transportation section of the credits, viewers noticed three separate vans listed — ‘Hamza Van’, ‘Hamza Staff Van’, and ‘Hamza Normal Van’. His team had later denied the claims.

His now-viral line, “Darling Darling, Dil Kyu Toda,” has taken over social media.

For the uninitiated, he first rose to fame with his role as Nandu in the iconic show Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, where his friendship with Jassi, aka Mona Singh, is still remembered.
