Her visit to the filmmaker's office has grabbed attention since reports have been doing the rounds that Bhansali has approached her for the female lead in his upcoming film, which stars Tamil actor Dhanush.

If the actress eventually signs the project, it would mark her first film with Bhansali. More than that, the collaboration could mark an end to one of Bollywood’s longest-discussed professional fallouts.

Kareena and Bhansali’s reported fallout

For the unversed, the bitter relationship between the two reportedly dates back to the early 2000s. Kareena was considered for the role of Paro in Devdas. She even did the screen test for the part and received a signing amount.  However, the role eventually went to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who featured opposite Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit in the 2002 period drama.

Later, Kareena publicly spoke about her disappointment over the incideny. In an old interview with Filmfare, Kareena had even stated that she would never work with Bhansali after the episode.

"I’ll never. What he did to me was wrong. He screen-tested me for Devdas, gave me a signing amount, then took someone else. That was wrong, it hurt especially because I was at the start of my career. It’s okay, because the day he dropped me, I signed Yaadein. Sanjay hurt me. Even if I have no work, I’ll never work with him," Kareena said.

Despite those strong comments, Kareena hinted at ending the feud with Sanjay Leela Bhansali during her appearance on  Koffee With Karan 8. Nevertheless, the latest visit suggests that the equation could have changed between the two over the years.

In the recently surfaced video, the actor is seen interacting with paparazzi several years ago. The actor can be heard speaking to them in fluent Marathi. The clip has left several users curious, as many questioned why he chose not to speak the language when he was asked to do so at a recent Mumbai event.

The video has also added another layer to the recent event, as social media users are left debating if Dutt's refusal and response were simply a joke or if he could have addressed the gathering in Marathi and intentionally chose not to.

The Dahi Handi video of Sanjay Dutt emerged after he attended an event on the occasion in Mumbai on Sunday, September 6, 2026. During his appearance, he shared the stage with Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik. During the event, Sarnaik asked Sanjay Dutt to speak in Marathi.

Sarnaik can be seen telling the audience in Marathi, “These days, I am teaching everyone Marathi," before referring to the Maharashtra government's recent order requiring autorickshaw drivers in Mumbai to have a functional understanding of Marathi phrases.

Haiwaan gets U/A certificate, runtime revealed

Haiwaan has completed its theatrical certification process ahead of its September 11 release date and has been awarded a UA 16+ certificate, dated September 8, 2026, by the censor board. The film’s certified length has been locked at164.7 minutes, which translates to an approximate 2 hours and 45 minutes of runtime.

Notably, Haiwaan also marks Priyadarshan moving away from the comedy-driven films that he has been associated with in recent years. The filmmaker has also said that the project represents a new chapter in his career.

Haiwaan plot and other details

Haiwaan brings Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan together in dramatically contrasting roles. Saif reportedly plays a visually impaired man caught in a dangerous conspiracy, while Akshay plays a ruthless antagonist. 

According to Times Now, the Haiwaan plot revolves around Shyam, a blind caretaker whose life takes a dangerous turn when he is framed for the murder of retired Judge Pradhan. As the police close in on him, Shyam is forced to flee while trying to uncover the truth behind the murder.

His escape takes a complicated turn when he takes on the responsibility of protecting Nandini, Pradhan’s secret daughter. Shyam is not the only person looking for her as Parshuram, a violent and vengeful killer, is also determined to track Nandini down.

The Haiwaan trailer released earlier had already created considerable buzz among the viewers. Directed by filmmaker Priyadarshan, Haiwaan has been generating considerable buzz with its intense premise and the powerful on-screen reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. The film also stars Boman Irani, Sharib Hashmi, Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar in pivotal roles.

Haiwaan is produced under KVN Productions and Thespian Films by Venkat K. Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn. It is set to release globally on September 11, 2026.

Unfortunately, the Bollywood period drama recieved decent-to-mixed reviews and failed to make an impact at the box office. Asked whether the film's underperformance disappointed her, particularly as it marked her comeback to the big screen, Preity said she is very proud of the project. She further explained that while she can give her 1000 per cent to a project, she cannot control its outcome and prefers to leave the rest to God.

Ramanand Sagar's grandson raises concerns over Ramayana casting

In a recent interview, Shiv said that he cannot accept Ranbir as Lord Ram since the actor has previously starred in films like Animal. “Except for that one casting, I like the rest of the casting very much. Personally, I cannot accept Ranbir Kapoor as Ram because after Animal, I cannot accept him as Ram. When I look at Ram ji, I feel that a fresh face should have been taken," he said, as reported by ANI.

"It’s better to take a new face"

Shiv further explained, "We have seen Ranbir in different roles; he is a very good actor. Personally, I don’t have anything against him. I think they must have taken him for the project because they want a marketing push, and maybe if they didn’t take Ranbir, the film wouldn’t have been marketed so well, so that’s also something to think about, but I personally believe that for such characters, it’s better to take a new face."

Let us tell you that this is not the first time Shiv Sagar has talked about Ranbir Kapoor's casting in Ramayana. In a previous interview with Bollywood Hungama, Shiva desired for the audiences to accept Ranbir in the role of Lord Ram. 

“I quite liked it, to be honest. In the earlier promotional asset, I felt that the quality of the graphics did not match the scale of the budget. However, after watching the trailer and seeing the ensemble cast, I am impressed. I thought Yash looked brilliant as Ravana. Sai Pallavi, too, suits the character of Sita, especially in the way she speaks and articulates herself. Overall, I think it looks very grand," he said.

Diljit Dosanjh's new music video

The video opens with Diljit at the centre of a large gathering, surrounded by young protesters carrying placards such as “Save Our Future” and “Our Future, Our Fight”. What follows is a familiar protest landscape, angry crowds, police personnel, confrontation and chaos.

The visuals have prompted viewers to draw parallels with the student protests earlier this year. However, the video does not name the movement or directly identify the events it depicts.

The video then signs off with a cheeky “Don’t try this at home”, followed by the words “I’m an Artist Bro” a phrase that has taken on an entirely different resonance after Diljit’s earlier comments.

Diljit had faced criticism earlier this year when he was asked about the CJP-led student protest during an Instagram Live session. At the time, he maintained that he was an artist rather than a politician and said he wanted to stay away from protests and political matters. His response attracted backlash, particularly from those who expected him to use his platform to support the students.

He later addressed the situation and backed students, saying the treatment was wrong and urging authorities to hear their demands. He also wrote, “The voice of the people is the voice of God.”

Tigmanshu Dhulia questions Dhurandhar's story

Tigmanshu Dhulia opened up about the Aditya Dhar-directorial admitting that he liked the first part of the film for its music and presentation; however, he felt the story department could have done a better job. "Thanks to corporate culture, only one kind of film is being made today. Every film is a fictional biopic. When I talk about commercial mainstream cinema, there are examples like Pushpa, KGF and Dhurandhar," he said.

"By the way, I liked the first part of Dhurandhar; it was very well presented, engaging, good music. But if you ask someone to tell the story of Dhurandhar, no one will be able to tell you. A man, who is undercover, goes to Pakistan and wreaks havoc there. Is this even a story?" he added.

The director also blamed "extreme capitalism for such trends. "There are no stories in today's films. People who would tell stories don't exist anymore and the ones who want to narrate their stories don't get to do so. People think those films 'won't work'. It's the same template... People also start looking the same; they even have the same haircut. Every city has started looking the same," he said.

For the unversed, Dhurandhar is a two-part film series fronted by Ranveer Singh. The film collectively earned over Rs 3,000 crore at the box office, making it the highest-grossing film in Indian cinema.

National Film Awards venue changed

The National Film Awards are breaking its decades long tradition this year. According to PTI, the 72nd National Film Awards will be held in Gujarat's Ekta Nagar on September 22, making it the first time in the history of the National Film Awards that the ceremony will be held outside Delhi.

President Droupadi Murmu is expected to arrive in Gujarat later this month and head to Ekta Nagar to present the 72nd National Film Awards. Ekta Nagar, formerly known as Kevadia, is well-known for housing the Statue of Unity, Gujarat's iconic landmark and the world's tallest statue.

Dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the 597-foot monument was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi back in 2018. 

Talking of this year's awards, the honours were announced earlier last month. The actors and filmmakers who will be honoured at the ceremony include Kartik Aaryan (Best Actor), Yami Gautam (Best Actress), Mammootty (Best Actor), Aditya Dhar (Best Film), Rajkumar Periasamy (Best Director), and Randeep Hooda (Best Debut Film of a Director).

Sharmila Tagore wanted cameo in VIBE

For Kemmu, the opportunity was both exciting and daunting. Tagore’s illustrious career includes collaborations with filmmakers such as Satyajit Ray and Hrishikesh Mukherjee, something that was not lost on the actor-turned-director. “I don't know if I can handle this pressure,” he admitted while speaking to Variety India.

Interestingly, Kemmu did not have to do much convincing to get Tagore on board. After Madgaon Express, the veteran actor was aware that her son-in-law was working on another film. Kemmu recalled how Soha Ali Khan first told him that her mother wanted to make a cameo in his next project.

“I thought she was just saying that, so I went and asked her if she was serious,” he said. Tagore, however, was ready to hear him out, asking, “‘Yes. What do you have in mind?’”

Kemmu told her about the cameo, only for Tagore to turn the conversation into a joke. “And then she jokingly said, ‘That was a trick question. Of course, I’ll do it,’” he recalled. VIBE also stars Preity Zinta in a pivotal role.

Kunal Kemmu praises Sharmila Tagore

While having Tagore on his set was a special moment, Kemmu was conscious of not casting her simply because of their family connection. “I have to find a part worthy of her,” he said, adding that if he had found a substantial role that suited her, he would have approached her for it.

“I wouldn't just cast her because she's my mother-in-law. She is first a legendary actress who I have been in awe of,” Kemmu said. For him, the character in VIBE had to justify her presence. “The role is quirky and interesting and she justifies playing that part,” he explained.

Looking back at the experience, Kemmu considers directing Tagore a milestone in his filmmaking journey. “It is a tick in the checklist. It is like a feather in my hat to have said that I got to direct the great Sharmila Tagore,” he said, while expressing gratitude to the actor for making time for the shoot.

With VIBE set to hit theatres on September 18, Kemmu will now see how audiences respond to his latest directorial venture and to his memorable collaboration with one of Hindi cinema’s most celebrated actors.

Neena Gupta on actors being insecure

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Neena shared why she is comfortable working with the younger generation. “I get along so well with this younger generation. Lagta hi nahi ki main inse bahut badi hoon (I don’t feel like I am much older than them). When I work with (actors of) my generation, bahut taqleef hoti hai (it is very difficult),” she stated.

The veteran actor says she has found that actors of her generation are insecure. Recalling an incident, she tells us, “They have so much ego. Once during a shoot, this actor was standing behind me, and he thought he wasn’t visible (in the frame). So he pulled me back and took my spot. This is how it is. They have ego problems and insecurities.”

She added, “They take offence to anything. They take it very personally. With these people (her co-stars in Chumbak), I can say anything to them, and they don’t mind. So I always prefer working with younger actors.”

Explaining its benefits, Sood said, “Students get safety. Parents get peace of mind. Universities and governments generate revenue. And, most importantly, we protect lives. Sometimes, a small change in policy can protect someone’s biggest dream (sic)," he concluded.

About the Delhi building collapse incident

For the unversed, a boys' paying guest accommodation in Delhi's Satya Niketan, near Delhi University's South Campus collapsed at around 1:30 pm on September 6. The five-storey PG accommodation was located in a congested lane near a Shiv temple in the RK Puram-Moti Bagh area.

As per the locals and officials, the building was being used as student accommodation, with around 15 rooms and two to three students staying in each room. By Tuesday morning, reports suggested around seven as rescue teams continued searching through the heavy debris.

"Ae Meri Zindagi" is a song from the upcoming film "Om Ka Hari," which stars Raghubir Yadav, Anshuman Jha, Soni Razdan, Ayesha Kapur, and Samta Sudiksha. The film centres on a retired astrologer who, following a health scare, becomes convinced that he has just six days left to live. Determined to make amends, he sets out on a journey to Varanasi in the hope of reconnecting with his estranged son.

The film was also screened at several international film festivals under the title "Hari Ka Om," including the Indisches Film Festival Stuttgart and the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.

"Om Ka Hari" is slated to hit theatres on September 18.

Barkha Singh recalls facing threats over a Diwali wish

While discussing the backlash and criticism around Kriti Sanon's Raksha Bandhan ad, Barkha weighed down on how celebrities need to be extra careful as even a slightest thing can easily be misinterpreted. Recalling a personal incident, she revealed how she once faced threats after a Diwali wish was misinterpreted.

She recalls, "I really love animals, and I am very vocal about animal welfare, animal protection, and raising funds for some NGOs. So once, I remember during Diwali, I was wishing everyone online, and I just said, 'Avoid bursting crackers near animals.' I have gotten threats for that because people made that a communal issue."

She recalls people questioning her, "Why are you only stopping people from bursting crackers?" "The words 'near animals' got ignored completely," she adds. "There are so many dogs who get harmed during Diwali because of crackers, so don't burst crackers near them. That was my point."

"So something as simple as that, you get trolled. Hence, I am very careful about what I say, but then beyond the point, it's normally not a good thing. You can get trolled for anything," Barkha adds.

She further weighs in, "And the day you decide that you want to be a public figure and you decide to put yourself out there, this is one part of the process that you should also include yourself in. This comes with the job."

If fans can expect to see her in reality shows in the future, Barkha denies any such prospects. She adds, "Unless it's a feel-good reality show like this (We Got You, Girl) and if it's a fit, yeah. But if it's just for entertainment and fights, maybe not. I'll do that as an actor."

We also asked her if she has been approached for shows, to which she replies, "Yeah, obviously, A bunch of times. Almost every year, every cycle. But it's always a very, very polite decline that it's not my cup of tea."

Mirzapur: The Movie end-credit scene was held for Part 2

As per a report in Hindustan Times, an independent industry source revealed, “There was another end-credit scene that was shot for Mirzapur: The Movie, but the makers consciously decided to hold it back for Part 2. The scene initially was to feature at the end of the film and set up what comes next, but the team felt its narrative significance would have a much bigger impact when the story continues.”

However, the box office success of the film did not prompt the makers to go for a second instalment. It was always the plan. For now, the theatrical release only offers audiences one version of how the story concludes. “The scene that was held back is now expected to feature as part of the next chapter of the film,” the source adds.

The makers shot an additional end-credit scene for the film but chose to hold it back for Part 2. The sequence was originally intended to feature in the theatrical cut and lay the groundwork for the next chapter, but the team reportedly felt its narrative significance would have a bigger impact as part of the sequel.

Hanuman Ansh beats Dhurandhar

Hanuman Ansh has delivered a stunning fifth-weekend performance at the box office, collecting Rs 49.25 crore nett across Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The film’s fifth-weekend tally is nearly four times that of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2, which earned Rs 12.55 crore during the same period earlier this year. More notably, Hanuman Ansh has surpassed the combined fifth-weekend collection of Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2. The first film earned Rs 33.25 crore in its fifth weekend, taking the two-film total to Rs 45.80 crore.

The film began attracting larger audiences in subsequent weeks, eventually recording its highest single-day collection of Rs 12.75 crore on its 24th day.

After the film’s success, director Vishal Chaturvedi has weighed in on the early assessment of the film, where it was allegedly declared a flop. While speaking to ANI, Vishal Chaturvedi expressed, “As long as the film is in a theatre and its run is not complete, then declaring that film a hit or flop is a haste. I used to feel that the film will be a hit and it will complete its run in two and a half months.”

Notably, the movie concludes with a slate suggesting that the story of Neem Karoli Baba is yet to be completed, clearly hinting at a sequel. It is now set for international release on September 11.

Reflecting on the recognition and appreciation her performance has received, the actress told IANS that the achievement has made her feel grateful and humbled while also giving her a greater sense of responsibility as an actor. Speaking about the recognition, Iulia shared, “I feel grateful and humbled by the appreciation Echoes of Us and my performance have received. Aviation company sues Nora Fatehi

According to the suit filed by Dunes Aviation, as reported by PTI, Fatehi recorded videos inside a Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft during a Mumbai-Jaipur flight in December last year, describing the aircraft as a “miniature”, a “toy” and a “Lego airplane”, and posted them on her Instagram handle.

The company alleged that the “reckless” statements made by the actor, who has more than 4.6 crore followers, triggered booking cancellations and severely hurt its commercial operations.

The suit, filed in April this year, stated that Fatehi’s statements were “reckless, irresponsible, and made without any technical knowledge, verification or factual basis”.

The company has suffered a 15-20 per cent drop in bookings and a rise in cancellations. It said the aircraft was standard and ideally sized for the journey undertaken by the defendant, was fully DGCA-certified and airworthy, and was lawfully operated under a valid NSOP.

Apart from Rs 3 crore in damages, the suit also sought the court’s direction for immediate removal of all content from social media platforms containing the statement or references to the aircraft, and a public clarification by the actor. The matter will be heard by the court of Senior Civil Judge R Agarwal on September 25.

After mid-day reported on about the controversy over Rajasthani rapper Rapperiya Baalam’s Shoorveer being used in Mirzapur: The Movie, the song’s label, Trouper Records, has clarified that it was officially licensed to Excel Entertainment. The rapper had questioned its use in a gangster sequence, saying, “Today, my heart is broken,” and claimed he had not granted permission (‘Want my song taken down from the film’, Sept 7). Trouper Records’ confirmation now puts the copyright and licensing concerns to rest, while the context of its use still remains debated.

The 597-foot monument, dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018. Ekta Nagar’s association with the Statue of Unity will add another iconic landmark to this year's celebrations.

The proposed venue marks a major change from the long-standing tradition of conducting the National Film Award ceremony in the national capital. Over the years, the award ceremony has been held at Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan, with the President traditionally handing over the prestigious honours to the winners.

72nd National Film Awards winners

The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards were announced in July, with several renowned names from Indian cinema added to the list. Mammootty and Kartik Aaryan will receive the Best Actor award for their performances in Bramayugam and Chandu Champion. Randeep Hooda will be awarded Best Debut Director for Swatantrya Veer Savarkar.

Article 370 was named Best Feature Film, while the film's lead actress Yami Gautam will receive the Best Actress honour for her performance.  Meanwhile, this year saw Kalki 2898 AD as the Best Popular Film, with Aanand L Rai winning Best Direction in the non-feature category for Statue of Unity – Ekta ka Prateek.
