Nepali Army personnel, engineers and a specialised drone team reached the far end of the tunnel after flooding in the Bhote Koshi River raised fears that workers could be trapped underground. The drone scanned areas that were difficult and dangerous for rescuers to inspect directly, but no survivors were detected. The search team subsequently returned to Dhunche. The workers` whereabouts remain unknown, with authorities unable to establish whether they are trapped underground, escaped to higher ground or were swept away by the floods.
