Mumbai witnessed large celebrations of Eid al-Adha, also known as Bakri Eid, as thousands of devotees gathered at mosques to offer prayers

People dressed in traditional attire greeted one another after prayers and exchanged festive wishes with family, friends and neighbours

The festival commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God

As part of the celebrations, many families performed Qurbani, the ritual sacrifice of animals, while also distributing meat and food among relatives, neighbours
