A Moroccan anti-terror court has sentenced 10 people to between 4 and 12 years in prison over terror-related crimes, the media reported

A Moroccan anti-terror court has sentenced 10 people to between 4 and 12 years in prison over terror-related crimes, the media reported.


Citing MAP news agency, Xinhua reported that the main accused, who already served a custodial sentence for terror-related offences, was handed 12 years in jail on Friday. In addition, one was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment, one to eight years, three to six years, two to five years and the remaining four to four years.


The 10 accused, who joined a cell recruiting and sending young people to conflict zones in Syria and Iraq, were prosecuted for "setting up a gang to prepare and commit terrorist acts as part of a collective project aimed at seriously damaging public order" and "advocating and inciting terrorism".
