Over a dozen vehicles were torched on Wednesdy by an angry mob over an objectionable religious post on the social media, police said. Hundreds of people assembled on the Ranchi-Jamshedpur highway at Bundu, around 40 Km from here, over the post allegedly against a particular religion.

The angry people pelted stones on vehicles, broke their glasses and set on fire at least 13 of them. They also burnt tyres on the national highway, forcing the shopkeepers to down their shutters in panic. Security forces have been deployed to restore peace in the area. They also conducted a flag march.

One person, who allegedly posted the objectionable content in the social media, had been arrested, the police said. They, however, refused to elaborate on the posted content. According to the police, situation has been brought under control and prevented from turning into communal clashes.
