Bhosari police arrested two persons on the charge of murdering Anil Puniyaram Vishwakarma (32), a businessman settled in Bhosari and a native of Uttar Pradesh.
u00a0The victim was shot dead by accomplices of the accused on Telco Road near Landewadi slum on Wednesday night.u00a0The duo has been identified as Ashok Ramdular Vishwakarma (55) and his son Santosh (36), both from Bhosari.
The deceased’s brother Sunil (33) has lodged a complaint against the accused. The two have been remanded in police custody till November 21 by a local court.
Cops have recovered an empty cartridge of 7.56 mm calibre from the spot. Investigating officer inspector RP Kunteu00a0said, “Anil was supposed to pay an amount of Rs 1.25 crore to the accused, but he had failed to do so over the past six months.”
Additional commissioner of police Shahaji Solunke said, “The accused and the deceased are cousins, and they had a dispute over the partnership of their workshop since 15 years.
Police investigated this past rivalry, and the inquest revealed that Ashok and Santosh Vishwakarma were assaulted by unknown persons in September 2011 and January 2012. Since local cops could not find the miscreants, both these case files were closed.”
“While investigating Anil Vishwakarma’s murder case, his brother and complainant Sunil informed police about these incidents. According to Sunil’s complaint, the police have arrested the accused, but the others who actually shot him are still absconding,” Solunke added.u00a0
