At least 27 people were injured after a car crashed in a school bus in Gers region of southwest France on Thursday, authorities said. The accident occurred at 12:48 local time in Manciet commune, Gers. The 27 wounded people have been hospitalised, Xinhua quoted Gers prefecture as saying. French television channel BFMTV earlier reported that at least 31 people were injured in the collision.

The car driver did not respect the priority of transport and crashed into the school bus carrying 45 students, it reported. Last month, a train smashed into a school bus on a crossing level in southern France, killing at least six school children.
