A 30-year-old medical representative was shot dead by two unidentified persons on Monday in the Kagzi-Mohal locality in the Bajaria area in Kanpur

A 30-year-old medical representative was shot dead by two unidentified persons on Monday in the Kagzi-Mohal locality in the Bajaria area in Kanpur, police said. Zaheer Abbas alias Shawez, resident of Chote Miyan Hata, Colonelganj, died on the spot.

Eyewitnesses claimed to have seen two armed men fleeing from the scene after a couple of gunshots, police said. Senior Superintendent of Police, Akhilesh Kumar Meena, said that Abbas hailed from Azamgarh had just left his aunt's house around midnight for Bansamandi to attend a wedding ceremony when the incident took place. He was discovered lying in pool of blood near a drain before a mosque in Kagzi-Mohal by the locals who informed police, SSP said.

Police is suspecting a property dispute as the motive behind the murder. A probe is on in the matter, the official said. The sixth killing in three days, Abbas's killing triggered panic among the locals.
