Four persons died today of swine flu in Maharashtra, raising the fatalities from the disease in the state to 215 so far.

Mumbai: Four persons died today of swine flu in Maharashtra, raising the fatalities from the disease in the state to 215 so far.

"Out of four deaths, two are reported from Pune and one each from Satara and Aurangabad. A total of 88 new cases have been reported across the state today," an official from the State Health Department told PTI.

The number of cases so far stands at 2,589 whereas 42 people infected by the H1N1 virus are on ventilator, the official said.

"The total number of patients discharged is 1,972 while 405 patients are still in hospitals," he said.

The state government has procured enough stock of Oseltamivir, commonly known as Tamiflu, and public hospitals across the state have been equipped with ventilators and 'N95 masks' for H1N1 patients, he added.
