48 km oil spill on Mumbai-Pune Expressway

A Major accident occurred on the Mumbai-Pune expressway on Saturday morning when an oil tanker turned turtle around Khandala. Due to the oil spill, two lanes had to be closed, leading to a massive jam. Traffic was finally diverted to the old Mumbai- Pune highway.



The incident occurred at 8.30 am when a tanker carrying oil hit a divider. An official from the Expressway control room said, "The impact of accident was huge. Oil spread across 48 kilometers.
