Mistry, a clerk in Pune, was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition on Sunday evening with symptoms of viral fever, breathlessness, headache and cough.

Hours before his death, MiD DAY spoke to his elder brother Yaswant. "The test was conducted on Sunday, but we are yet to receive his reports.

There is no fan in the ward and the hospital condition is bad," he said.

At 11.30 pm, when the reporter contacted Yashwant, he was not aware of the loss, and hospital authorities were searching for the family to claim Mistry's body.

Doctors said, "We cannot confirm if Mistry was H1N1 positive, but he did have swine flu symptoms."
