In a shocking incident a godman was arrested for raping a seven-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred in the Kannauj's Dandaurd Khurd town in Uttar Pradesh on Friday and the girl is said to be in critical condition as per reports by the Times of India.

Circle Officer Lakshmi Kant Gautam to ANI, "The girl was found near the 'kuti' (hut) of a Baba, she also gave the description of a man with big beard and moustache after which we arrested him." On being found, the girl said that she was assaulted by a man with a beard and moustache. The officer was informed that the girl was missing after she went to listen to a speech on Bhagvat Katha being carried out in the neighbourhood.
The girl’s family alter found her near the godman’s home with blood on her clothes. Dr Nidhi Goyal, who is overseeing the treatment of the girl said, "We have taken care of the wounds in her private parts but cannot say much about the internal injuries. Her condition is still critical and we will refer her to Kanpur for further treatment." The girl also complained of being hit by a stick and doctors suspect that more than one person were involved in the crime.
