If you're a bookworm, you would surely not want to miss this festival. The Strand Book festival is back in Pune, with a massive range of books on literature, art, design, architecture, history, popular science, management, self-help, fitness, craft, cookery, children and more. What's more, they are available at drop down prices.
The mid-term exhibition has been an annual event for the Strand Book Stall and this time around the exhibition will be in Pune. The 63-year-old bookstore started in Mumbai with branches in Bengaluru, Pune, Mysore and Hyderabad. It was founded by the late Padmashri TN Shanbhag, who was given national recognition for spreading knowledge. Today it is headed by his daughter, Vidya Virkar.
Talking about the exhibition and the kind of books available at the exhibition, Ramchandra Pai, exhibition coordinator at Strand Book Stall, says, "Strand book Stall is famous for its wide selection of books. At this exhibition, books on architecture, cookery, art, novels and more will be available. This is the third time we are coming to Pune. Previously we were here in January 2010 and the response was great. This is one of the main reasons we are returning back to Pune. We have received a great response from college students and we are hoping for a great footfall this year." Strand is offering discounts from 20% to 70% for everyone.
