Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers, who were going to Roha to attend a rally, made a brief halt at the skywalk and inaugurated the skywalk at the hands of the ommon man.

Ravi Shrivastava of AAP, said, “We have been requesting authorities to open the skywalk since the skywalk will help people to cross the Sion-Panvel highway safely. Since we found that authorities did not pay heed to our demands, we inaugurate the skywalk by cutting a ribbon at the hands of the common man. Now this skywalk will be used by common man.”

City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), however, refused to give importance to the inauguration by AAP workers claiming that inauguration of the skywalk will be done by chief minister Prithviraj Chavan.

Tanaji Satre, managing director of CIDCO, said, u00a0“Such act by some people can not be considered as inauguration. Although people have been asked to use the skywalk by some group, people will not use the skywalk since they are aware that little work of the skywalk is yet to be done. Once we will ensure completion of skywalk construction, we will inaugurate the skywalk at the hands of the chief minister. We anticipate the inauguration of the skywalk very soon.”
