"Yes, he beat me in tennis when I was 10 or 12 years old. He was pretty good in those days. I am glad he made the switch to cricket," Anderson said, bursting into laughter.

"I am still in touch with AB on twitter and sms. I think AB is the best batsman in the world. I am a passionate cricket follower.

Yesterday, I watched some of the second South Africa-England Test match in my hotel room. South Africa seem to be finding their form again after being thrashed by India," said Anderson with a twinkle in his eye.

The 29-year-old had a terrific 2015. He reached his first-ever Grand Slam quarter-final at the US Open, en route he ousted World No 2 Andy Murray.
