Abhinav Bindra clinches gold at National Shooting Championships

India's lone Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra clinched the gold medal in the 10 metre air rifle event at the 57th National Shooting Championships yesterday

Bindra shot 208.9 to pip Army’s Ashok Chavanke to the gold medal. Chavanke’s 204.3 handed him the silver medal while Olympian Sanjeev Rajput claimed bronze.

Meanwhile, in the center-fire pistol event, Army’s Pemba Tamang caused an upset when he shot 583 to win the gold medal ahead of London Olympics silver medallist Vijay Kumar.
