Jadhav allegedly took the amount to go easy in an atrocity case filed against Sanajay Shamrao Konde (48) of Ambegaon Pathar. Konde contacted the ACB after the bribe demand was made to help him out of the case that had been filed against him a few months ago at Rajgad police station, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Rural police.u00a0

ACB has also lodged a case against another police constable Sanjay Koli for his alleged involvement in the case. According to ACB sleuths, Konde lodged the complaint against Jadhav and Koli on Monday after the two demanded Rs 50,000 to go slow and settle the case permanently.

Konde managed to settle the amount at Rs 40,000 and gave the two accused Rs 10,000 each after promising to hand
over the balance amount at the police station on Tuesday night. A trap was set and Jadhav was arrested while accepting the money.

Rajendra Galande, deputy superintendent, ACB said, “We arrested Jadhav and a case has been filed against Koli, as he was not present at the police station when the cash changed hands. We have, however. confirmed his involvement.”

The Pune ACB has urged people to come forward and register cases against government officials who are demanding bribes. Complainants can contact ACB officials on 020-26122134, 26132803. u00a0
