African woman held at Mumbai Airport for bid to smuggle out Rs 1 crore worth narcotics

Air Intelligence Unit of Mumbai Customs today detained a woman from Congo for allegedly trying to smuggle amphetamine drug worth Rs one crore, a senior official said

Mumbai: Air Intelligence Unit of Mumbai Customs today detained a woman from Congo for allegedly trying to smuggle amphetamine drug worth Rs one crore, a senior official said.

"We have seized 10 kgs of white coloured powder purported to be amphetamine worth Rs one crore," Customs Commissioner APS Suri said.

Ndombasi Mbandu Pauline was detained before she attempted to depart to Nairobi in Kenya.

Suri said Pauline had concealed the drugs in her suitcase and check-in luggage.
