A 33-year-old woman, identified as Reshma Sachin Karjatkar, committed suicide at her residence in Siddharth Society in Sambhajinagar in Chinchwad yesterday morning. The police suspect Karjatkar took the drastic step after she failed to clear the recently concluded Teachers Eligibility Test (TET)

According to officials from the Nigdi police station, her husband and two children survive Karjatkar. She was alone at home at the time of the incident. She was upset after the TET results were announced on Monday.

According to information given by her relatives, Karjatkar had secured about 75 per cent marks while the cut off was 90 per cent. She was crying for the whole night and may have committed suicide due to depression. Though her relatives rushed her to hospital, the doctors declared Karjatkar dead on arrival.
