Airtel offers 3GB free monthly data for a year to customers

Bharti Airtel, India's largest telecom operator has offered users monthly free data of upto 3GB for a year, which started from Tuesday, January 4 till December 31 2017. The company annouced in an official statement that the offer will close on February 28 this year

Bharti Airtel, India's largest telecom operator has offered users monthly free data of upto 3GB for a year, which started from Tuesday, January 4 till December 31 2017. The company annouced in an official statement that the offer will close on February 28 this year.

According to a report by The Hindu, this could be an attempt by Airtel to counter free services offered by new entrant Reliance Jio. Customers can avail of free 3GB every month with select Prepaid and Postpaid packs.

The company further explained in its official statement, that the offer will be valid for any customer with a 4G handset, that is currently not on the Airtel network. Also, any customer will be able to use this offer after upgrading to a new 4G handset. Users will get 3GB of free 4G data in addition to free calling and 1GB data, which is already promised. Even prepaid customers, who have opted for Airtel's Rs 345 recharge can get this offer.

In the case of postpaid customers, the free monthly 3GB data plan is applicable on all MyPlan Infinity Plans.
