The film, set in the 80s, will see Akshay essay the role of a cricket-loving gangster and the makers, keeping with the essence of the film and Akshay's role, thought it was a great idea to promote the film during the match. "As a company known for pushing the envelope on marketing, we will have our Shoaib attending the India-Pakistan match at Edgbaston. Cricket is a perfect fit with his character in the film, as evidenced in the film's first trailer as well," Balaji Motion Pictures CEO Tanuj Garg said in a statement.

The film, directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, stars Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonali Bendre. It is scheduled to release on August 15
