If sources are to be believed, Alia Bhatt and Sushant Singh Rajput have been cast opposite each other in filmmaker Homi Adajania’s next project. It is being said that the film will be produced by Illuminati Films.

Says a source, “This is a fresh pairing. Alia and Sushant have not worked with each other so far, but both have shown a lot of promise in their recent films. They have now been signed on to star in Homi Adajania’s next film.”

While both actors and the filmmaker remained unavailable for comment, trade analysts think this casting is an interesting one.

Trade analyst Amod Mehra says, “After 2 States, Alia has proved that she can exert a box-office pull. With this casting, she has now been paired with almost all young stars except Ranveer Singh and Aditya Roy Kapur."

While Alia has signed Vikas Bahl’s film Shaandar with Shahid Kapoor and Ayan Mukherji’s Ranbir Kapoor-starrer, Sushant Singh Rajput, who shot to fame with Kai Po Che!, is looking forward to Rajkumar Hirani’s P.K., Dibakar Banerjee’s Detective Byomkesh Bakshi — shooting for which is almost complete — and Shekhar Kapur’s Paani that goes on the floors on December 1.
