Rumours are rife that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has major creative differences with Omung Kumar, the director of his film, Mary Kom. If a source is to be believed, Bhansali didn’t even invite Omung for the party he had recently hosted for lead actress, Priyanka Chopra.

In fact, at first, there were reports about PeeCee calling the shots on the sets instead of debutant director Omung Kumar. Then came news that the actress had asked for changes to be made in the script after she personally met Olympic boxer, Mary Kom, on whom the film is based. Now the latest buzz has it that Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Omung Kumar are not seeing eye to eye on many aspects of the film.

A source says, “There were reports that Omung was miffed with PeeCee because of her interference but this time she hasn’t created any problems. It turns out that many creative differences have cropped up between producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the director. Now the rift has become so wide that Omung was not even invited to the party that Bhansali had hosted at his place recently to mark Priyanka’s birthday.”

However, a source close to the director says that there aren’t any creative differences bwteen the two. “Bhansali had invited his and Priyanka’s personal guests, as it was her birthday party. The producer-director duo is currently working on the film’s promotion.”

Omung Kumar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali remained unavailable for comment.
