All Rhodes lead to India

Love is a many splendored thing, they say and Jonty Rhodes couldn't agree more. And he's quick to point out that, even at 42, he's still a little 'out of control' and 'breathless' around Caroline McClelland, his girlfriend. Well, it is this sense of enthusiasm, warmth and humour that makes this ace fielder one of the most loved cricketers of all times. Jonty who is all set to be a part of an Indian reality show talks to CS about his love for India and his reality TV debut:

42, not out
A new relationship should have you a little out of control, and somewhat breathless, even at age 42! Romance has no age restrictions, even though the censorship board will tell you differently. I have visited India several times, and even with Caroline. I find the people here really warm. I am also trying to learn Hindi, Yoga and how to make some of the delicious Indian dishes. I think that Mumbai is one of the most vibrant cities I have visited across the world. I am simply amazed by the professionalism I see here. When I am in Mumbai, I love visiting my friends and taking walks on the beach. As far as Bollywood is concerned, I love Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. They are two stars I have met closely, and both have impressed me with their love for cricket, their work ethic and humility.u00a0

Life's an experiment
I love trying out new things. Last year, I went snowboarding in Kashmir and coming down the slopes from 4000m on a board that I have only ridden once before, was very scary! I eventually made it to the bottom, not with much grace, but with a great deal of enthusiasm. Being slightly out of control gets the heart racing, and getting out of your comfort zone forces you to realise that many things are achievable, even though you might be afraid to try them out. I did the same with my fieldingu00a0- I would rather dive for the ball and drop a catch, than not make the effort, and then wonder if I could have taken that catch. I apply this attitude to all aspects of my life.

Home arrest
When the idea of participating in the reality show was put across to me, I was excited. I've always wondered what it would be like to live with different people under the same roof and be closely monitored through hidden cameras. It's thrilling and I am looking forward to get house arrested. I believe that the real you is revealed only once you are placed under pressure! I am looking forward to the opportunity.
