Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital, to its gastroenterology department, yesterday for a regular check-up. The actor came in around 6.30 pm for his regular dose of a medicine that needs to be taken via injection through saline supply and discharged around 9 pm. He was admitted under Dr Jayant Barve, a renowned gastroenterologist.

A source from the hospital said, "He had come in for a routine check-up; there was nothing serious about the admission. He got admitted as he needed to take an injection through saline, for which hospitalisation of a few hours is required." Sources, however, also said that the actor had been coming in frequently for the last few days for treatment for spondylitis.

Till the time of going to press, there was no official statement released by the hospital. Earlier in the day, the teaser of his film 102 Not Out with Rishi Kapoor was released. The two veteran actors are sharing screen space after 27 years. The movie is based on a Gujarati play by the same name and is said to be 'the most unusual father-son love story'.
