For quite a while now, there has been speculation about Amrita Rao making her telly debut. After two offers supposedly fell through, the actress is now believed to have landed a role in a non-fiction show.

But sources say the makers have not finalised the deal yet due to Amrita's steep fee demand. A source says, "Amrita has been reading scripts for some time now. While she had almost finalised two shows, things eventually did not work out.

Her latest offer is quite interesting — an interactive non-fiction show. The makers and channel have had a few meetings with her but there's a hitch. She has demanded a high amount to do the show."

It is said that the actress has quoted a daily remuneration of Rs 7 lakh and the negotiations are still on. Adds the source, "The format is such that she won't have to shoot everyday and so, the amount that she has asked for is a bit high.

The makers are still bargaining with Amrita and have also kept the casting process open. They will arrive at a decision over the next few weeks."

Amrita Rao was not available for comment.
