Amyra Dastur

2019 was a great year for Amyra Dastur and 2020 seems to look even better as she has not one but two projects in the pipeline. After Ali Abbas Zafar's next web series on Amazon Prime, starring Saif Ali Khan, Dastur has bagged yet another series. She will be seen in Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's next, titled Dongri to Dubai, which will be helmed by Shujaat Saudagar of Rock On 2 fame.

Ask the actor how it all came about, and she says, "I received a call from the casting director for an audition. They didn't inform me what it was about, who was going to be in it or who was backing it. They gave me a character brief and dialogues to memorise. After a few days, I was called back for a second audition because they wanted to check my versatility. Post that, Saudagar called me to the office for a narration. I loved what I heard and requested them for [the script of] all the episodes before I gave them an official confirmation."

Details about Dastur's role have been kept under wraps, but it has been heard that she plays a Parsi girl in the series. The actor says it's the "content and character that appealed" to her. "For me, it's all about the script and the set-up. This show is adapted from a gripping book which I've read and loved. The power-crazed gangsters and world of crime is what interested me the most," she says of the ten-part series.
