Classical music aficionados can attend a three-day festival that pays tribute to Pandit CR Vyas
Pancham Nishad is hosting Chintamani Jayanti Samaroh, a three-day festival of Hindustani and Carnatic music, in the city. This year, the event will pay tribute to Padmabhushan Pandit CR Vyas to commemorate his 89th birth anniversary which falls on November 9.

The event will feature artistes such as Guru Karai Kudimani (mridangam), Roopkumar Rathod (vocal), Purbayan Chatterjee (sitar) and Dr Prabha Atre (vocal).
Manjiri Asnare Kelkar, who will be performing at the event, said, “I am happy to get a chance to pay my tribute to Pandit CR Vyas. I will be performing the raagas from the Jaipur Atarawali Gharana.”
While talking about youngsters in Classical music she pointed out that the crowds have not reduced. “A lot of youngsters still get attracted to this form of music and come here to learn,” she adds.
Prahlad Tipaniya seconds Kelkar and adds that, “I will be signing Lok Parampara songs of Kabir as his teachings are applicable in today’s world as well.”
