The Bombay High Court on Monday ordered an FIR against eight Gurgaon cops who had allegedly killed gangster Sandeep Gadoli in an alleged encounter at a Mumbai hotel on February 7.
The court ordered the FIR after Sandeep's elder brother of Sandeep filed a writ petition in the court demanding that an offence of murder be registered against the police.

Sandeep's brother Kuldeep Gadoli had approached the court claiming that Sandeep's encounter was fake and it was a cold blooded murder carried by the Gurgoan cops.
"It was a fake encounter at the behest of a business rival," says Kuldeep Singh's petition which came up for hearing before the court on Monday.
A team of Gurgaon police killed 32-year-old Sandeep, a resident of Gadoli village in Gurgaon in Haryana, at Hotel Airport Metro in Mumbai on February 7 after they what they claimed was a shoot-out between them and Gadoli.
However, Singh has alleged that it was murder, as the police did not give his brother the opportunity to surrender.
According to the hotel staff he spoke to, Singh says in the petition, police appeared to have first hit Ghadoli on the head, due to which he became unconscious, and then shot him. Before the alleged encounter, the Gurgaon police team removed the CCTV connection in the hotel lobby.
Also, it did not inform the MIDC police in Mumbai about the operation, it says. It also alleges that the woman, who was accompanying Gadoli at the time was informer of Gurgaon police.
Justice Ranjit More and V B Achaliya asked a special SIT formed by the Mumbai Police Commissioner Datta Padsalgikar to inquire into the allegations.
