Armaan Jaffer's all-round show ensured defending champions Rizvi Springfield (Bandra) ended Day Two of the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA)-Mumbai Indians Harris Shield Elite Division final at Matunga Gymkhana yesterday on a high

Resuming on the overnight score of 241-6, IES VN Sule Guruji’s middle-order batsman Kunal Chalke (87) helped the Dadar school post 353 in 106.2 overs. Off-spinner Armaan scalped the wickets of Chalke, Heramb Parab (15) and Prathamesh Chavan (24).

The prolific batsman then scored an unbeaten 121 as Rizvi took firm control over the match. At stumps, the Bandra school was 263-2. Armaan has Sidak Singh (44 not out) for company at the crease.

Earlier, opener Prithvi Shaw gave the Bandra team a solid start by scoring 81 before being caught by wicketkeeper Prathamesh off Heramb.

Armaan was happy with his bowling effort though. “It was very satisfying. The wicket was a bit dusty and there was lot of turn. We were looking to bowl them out under 400,” said Armaan.
