Arteta rescues Arsenal in tight win

Mikel Arteta's 84th-minute goal saw Arsenal beat bottom club Queens Park Rangers 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday to snap a two-game losing streak and crown Jack Wilshere's comeback with victory.

Beaten by Norwich City and Schalke in their last two outings, Arsene Wenger’s side looked destined for a third disappointing result in a row until Arteta finally found a way past QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar.

Wigan end home drought 
Elsewhere, Wigan recorded their first home win of the season on Saturday with a clinical 2-1 win over West Ham. Goals by Ivan Ramis and James McArthur were enough to secure much-needed points this season.

Aston Villa held
Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert settled for a 1-1 draw in his grudge match with former club Norwich after Michael Turner’s late goal.

Reading 3 Fulham 3
Fulham climbed to sixth place in EPL table despite conceding a last-minute equaliser in a pulsating 3-3 draw at Reading.
