Maharashtra's top junior singles tennis player Aryan Goveas is taking big strides towards his dream of becoming the best in the country. And theu00a013-year-old Mumbai lad is pushing himself to achieve that target by the end of this year.

Having started last year at No 46 in the U-14 All Indian Tennis Association (AITA) rankings, Aryan currenty stands at No 3.

Aryan's focus, consistency, discipline and a constant urge to be the best are signs there are bigger things to come from this Class VIII VIBGYOR High student.

Aryan is also part of the top doubles pair in the country alongwith partner Raswant Ravi. "Last year has been great.u00a0 I certainly hope to do well and go one better than 2011. I need to be more consistent and it's going to be tough. But I am confident and I'll keep trying," saidu00a0 Aryan.

Aryan's coach Aditya Madkekar of the Tennis Excellence at Khar Gymkhana was all praise for his ward. "He has shown a lot of promise and grit. Currently he is seeded three in the juniors, which I think is commendable," said Madkekar.

Aryan started the year on a winning note, bagging the boys U-14 title in the AITA's Super Series Tennis Tournament at Nanded recently. Last year,u00a0 he won the Super Series in Amristsar, and Panchgani Super Series among other titles.
