Australia high on physical assault, says edu consultant

The alleged racial attack on four Indian students in Melbourne has elicited mixed reactions from students. Rajiv Mehta, proprietor Edument International, states, "We've counselled quite a few students who said they were afraid to go to Australia."

Ashish Sonde, managing director, International Foundation for Studies and Culture, says, "Australia has been showing an increasing trend in racism. Racism is mostly found in first world countries, but Australia is high on physical assault. Racism is less in smaller towns and high in metros."

Lorraine Joel, an education consultant with Chrysalis International Education Services says there is no need to fear. "Students have nothing to be afraid of. All they have to do is not show off and keep to themselves or mind their own business."
