The city got a glimpse of fabulous auto beauties as super-cars were paraded on Mumbai roads yesterday.

Ferrari F458 Italia, Lamborghini Gallardo, Maserati GTS, Porsche 911, Jaguar XF-R, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce Phantom, BMW 650 Coupe, Bentley Flying Spur, Ferrari F99 GTB and a couple of Harley Davidson bikes were among the automobiles that hit the road at the third edition of the Super Car Show 2011, organised by the Super Car Club of India.

Chairman of Super Car Club (SCC) Gautam Singhania indicated that elite Mumbaikars showed a lot of passion for these flying machines. "The parade this year was very good and a lot better than the previous years. These cars are here to show our passion. These events showcase the fact that the luxury car market in India is growing at an incredible clip year after year," said Singhania after driving India's first personalised Ferrari 458 Italia.

The machines, which are capable of touching speeds of 100 kmph in less than five seconds, started from the Vidhan Bhavan, Nariman Point and ended at the same point after reaching Santacruz highway via the Bandra-Worli Sea Link within a span of an hour and 45 minutes.

All along the route hundreds of spectators watched spell-bound as the vehicles zipped past. Over 45 drivers made sure the event took place safely by maintaining speed limits on Mumbai roads.

"It's amazing to participate in the car parade. I have been a part of it for the past three years now. Lot of passion and also business is associated with the event," said Keki Modi, a proud Rolls Royce Phantom owner.
