Yesterday, Sanjay Gupta had a harrowing time while shooting for his John Abraham-starrer Mumbai Saga. The filmmaker tweeted that "a political leader and his cronies" arrived on the set and insisted "that he break the coconut before we start shooting. He also demanded photo-ops with the stars and cash for his 'permission' (sic)." Gupta added, "The cops arrived only to shut us down. Fortunately, we had finished filming the main scene. We packed up and left. Don't think I'll ever shoot in that place again. Sad (sic)." Gupta did not reveal the location or the identity of the politician.
Hate Story 4 (2018) actor Ihana Dhillon is playing a survivor of sexual violence in the web series, Kasak. The show is said to be inspired by the life of nurse Aruna Shanbaug who was raped in KEM Hospital in 1973 by a sweeper. She spent 42 years in a vegetative state. Dhillon says, "When I got to know about the incident, it troubled me a great deal."
Tabu turns 48
To mark Tabu's 48th birthday yesterday, the makers of her upcoming Telugu film, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, revealed her look in the action drama. Trivikram Srinivas's film, starring Allu Arjun, Pooja Hegde and Sushanth A, marks the actor's return to Telugu cinema after over a decade. Tabu was last seen in K Raghavendra Rao's Pandurangadu (2008).
Bachchan retrospective at IFFI Goa
A retrospective of Amitabh Bachchan's classics will be showcased at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa. Paa (2009) will be the opening attraction. The line-up also includes Sholay (1975), Deewar (1975), Black (2005), Piku (2015) and Badla. Bachchan and Rajinikanth will be attending the opening ceremony of the golden jubilee of the festival, which runs from November 20 to 28.
