While addressing media persons, Ramdev said, "If Modi's wife Jashodaben does not have any issues with Modi, why are Congress leaders interested in his personal life?" He added that BJP has never raised a question as to why Rahul Gandhi is still unmarried.

He said, "Modi got married at a tender age of 13, when the child doesn't even know what marriage is all about. What people should consider is that Modi has never indulged in corruption in the last 12 years while holding charge as chief minister of Gujarat."

The teacher not only praised Modi, but also glorified senior leader LK Advani. He said that he earlier had a misconception about the senior leaders. "I took five years to understand that Advani is the most thoughtful, honest and visionary leader of the party."

Ramdev has been touring India to garner votes for the BJP, after the party accepted his proposal to bring back black money. "I told him that those who have stashed away money in foreign banks should be penalised, whether they are associated with you (Modi) or me (Ramdev)," he said.
